How Long Does the Training Take?

We understand that everyone learns at their own pace — and our courses are designed with that in mind.

Here’s a brief overview of what is included in each course:

  • Performing Spirometry – Adults: approx. 10 hours of video content
  • Reporting Spirometry – Adults: approx. 2 hours of video content
  • Performing Spirometry – Paediatrics: approx. 5 hours of video content
  • Reporting Spirometry – Paediatrics: approx. 2 hours of video content
  • Spirometry Update - Adults: approx. 8 hours of video content

While these estimates provide a helpful guide, every learning journey is different. Some learners may move through the content quickly, while others benefit from reviewing modules more than once — and that’s completely normal.

In addition to the eLearning modules, learners enrolled on Performing courses will also need to complete a number of real-life patient Spirometry tests in their clinical setting. This practical component is essential to help you:

  • Apply your knowledge in real-world scenarios
  • Build competence and confidence
  • Meet ARTP assessment requirements (if completing ARTP certification)

You’ll be guided on how many tests are needed and how to record and submit them as part of your portfolio (if applicable).

What to Expect From the eLearning Experience

We know the number of hours may seem daunting at first — but once you begin, you’ll quickly find your rhythm.

Our self-paced eLearning includes:

  • Step-by-step video lessons
  • Knowledge checks to consolidate your understanding
  • Downloadable guides and resources
  • Ongoing access to review content as needed

You'll also be supported through monthly live virtual drop-in sessions with our expert trainer, Joanne Hamilton, for advice, Q&A, and peer discussion.

This course isn’t just about passing — it’s about building real, lasting skills to support your patients and your professional development.

How long do I have to complete the Course?

Enjoy 9 months of full access to our comprehensive courses, and 8 weeks of access to our update courses — giving you plenty of time to learn at your own pace. Need more time? Just let us know — extensions are available!
